Camila Cabello
Camila Cabello (her full name is Karla Camila Cabello) was born on March 3, 1997 and comes from Miami, Florida. She was born in Cuba and is half-Mexican. Her first name is Karla, but she has used Camila, her middle name, throughout the X Factor competition. She speaks Spanish fluently.
Although she only started singing in 7th grade, Camila has a strong voice that is very popular with the audience. She famously uploaded a video of herself singing Skyscraper by Demi Lovato to YouTube in 2011. As a member of Fifth Harmony, Camila performed the song in front of Lovato in the X Factor only a year later (you can watch that performance here - Live Show 1 - Survival). Camila is laid-back, relaxed and funny. "I am serious maybe like 0.01 percent of the time", she said in one of the first X Factor promo videos for the group. Before coming to prominence in the X Factor, she ran a twitter fan account for One Direction. Camila met the band members, together with other girls from the group, during the competition. At her Greensboro audition, Camila sang Respect by Aretha Franklin and secured a place in the Boot Camp. The performance was never aired nor uploaded online, reportedly because of copyright issues. |
